Escherichia coli enteritis, all reported pathotypes, is a source-reported aggregate of EHEC/STEC and other notifiable diarrheagenic E. coli pathotypes within Norwegian MSIS surveillance, not a single clinical entity [1][2][3]. The aggregate combines an EHEC/STEC component with non-EHEC pathotypes such as EIEC, EPEC, ETEC, and EAEC, each described under separate FHI chapters [2][3]. It must not be summed with its EHEC/STEC component because the classification scope is explicitly non-additive [1].
