1. O PAPEL DO FARMACÊUTICO NO ACOMPANHAMENTO DE USUÁRIOS DA PROFILAXIA PRÉ-EXPOSIÇÃO AO HIV (PrEP)

Across the six included studies, adherence and continuity were associated with PrEP’s preventive effectiveness, while individual, social, and structural factors could impede access and continued engagement with health services. Individualized pharmacist guidance and integrated clinical follow-up were presented as potentially helpful, although pharmacist-exclusive interventions were not directly evaluated.

  2. A Diagnostic Algorithm Based on Urine Antigen and Blood Polymerase Chain Reaction Testing for Visceral Leishmaniasis in HIV-Coinfected Patients in Northwest Ethiopia

The supplied abstract reports blood PCR sensitivity 98% and specificity 64%, and KAtex urine antigen sensitivity 93% and specificity 81% against tissue microscopy. A sequential KAtex-first algorithm restricted PCR to 41.2% of episodes and tissue aspiration to 13.7%, with 100% sensitivity, 81% specificity, and 86% positive predictive value, meeting the WHO target product profile except for specificity.

  4. A genomic toolkit for surveillance and elimination of the principal malaria vectors in Southeast Asia.

The authors released Adir1.0, a curated catalog of 540 An. dirus whole-genome sequences with cloud-based API access, and an updated Amin1.0 API. Their exploratory analysis identified population structure, candidate areas of physiological resistance, and genomic structural variation.

  5. A glycosylation-associated hemagglutinin substitution improves the breadth of an influenza B mRNA vaccine

The D212N substitution restored the glycosylation motif in the BV21 antigen and enhanced cross-neutralizing responses against tested heterologous strains; mice given a high dose of the modified vaccine showed 100% survival after challenge with viruses from different subclades.
